SMV Packers Invitational

The Packers will host their 2nd Annual Invitational baseball tournament on July 2 - July 5, 2009.  The tournament will consist of eight quality summer collegiate baseball teams and be divided into two divisions.  Each team will play the other teams within their division, and the winner of each division will play for the championship on Sunday, July 5, 2009.
 
The following are the two brackets and schedule for the SMV Packers Invitational.

Home Team is predetermined for each team's first 2 games (July 2nd & 3rd games).  This ensures that each team is the home team 1 out of 2 games.  A coin flip will decide the home team for the remainder of the tournament (July 4th & 5th games).
 
The team with the best record within their bracket will play on Sunday, July 5 for the championship.  If two teams have the same record, there will be a playoff game on Saturday, July 4.  If three teams have the same record, there will be a tie-breaker system to determine which two teams will play the playoff game.  The tie-breaker system is as follows:
 
1)  The two teams with fewest runs allowed within their bracket will advance.
2)  In the event of a tie between teams after the first tie-breaker, the team with most runs scored within their bracket will advance.
3) In the event of a tie between teams after the second tie-breaker, advancement will be determined by head to head play.
